On Wednesday evening, a shooting took place in Washington DC killing one individual and leaving several others injured. Law enforcement has issued a public alert for the vehicle believed to be transporting the assailant who fled the scene.
Although details are scarce, authorities have confirmed the death of a man at the scene and the hospitalization of five others, including a nine-year-old and a 12-year-old, with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The shooting took place at approximately 6:10 pm in the city’s northeast, with the potential involvement of two shooters who remain at large.
In a press briefing, officials confirmed that the investigation is still in its early stages but suggested that the suspects exited the vehicle and initiated gunfire.
“Lookout is for a light blue Toyota sedan, UNK tags, no front tags, dark tints, black rims, possibly occupied with two shooters inside. L/S heading Eastbound on Maryland Ave NE,” Washington police shared on X (formerly Twitter).
