Mass Grave Found at Gaza Hospital Occupied by Israeli Forces

Al Jazeera reported on Monday that Palestinian civil authorities discovered a mass grave within Gaza’s Khan Younis, located in the Gaza hospital complex. As of now, 180 bodies have been recovered.

The mass grave was uncovered on Saturday within the Nasser Medical Hospital complex, following the withdrawal of Israeli military forces from the southern city on April 7. The process of counting the bodies was ongoing as of Sunday. Among the recovered bodies are elderly women, children, and young men.

“We… are waiting for all graves to be exhumed to give a final number of martyrs,” Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the civil defense agency. “There were no clothes on some bodies, which certainly indicates (the victims) faced torture and abuse,” Bassal said.

A similar mass grave mass was discovered at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza earlier this week. Al-Shifa is the largest medical facility in the war-torn coastal enclave.

Meanwhile, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in a video message, on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Passover, said t

hat the country “will deliver additional and painful blows” to Hamas. “In the coming days we will increase the military and political pressure on Hamas because this is the only way to free our hostages,” he said.
