On its opening day, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” the buddy action movie directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff made a significant global debut. According to a press release from the film’s team, the Eid release garnered a little above Rs. 33 crores globally.
In India, as per a report by Sacnilk, the movie earned ₹15.5 crore with an overall Hindi occupancy of 29.30% on Thursday. It faced a box office clash with Amit R Sharma’s period football drama “Maidaan,” starring Ajay Devgn, which earned ₹7.1 crore domestically on the same day.
Malayalam Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is an antagonist Kabir in the film and the iconic duo, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are seen performing death-defying stunts as they play two elite soldiers who are on a mission to recover a stolen AI weapon. Manushi Chhillar, Sonakshi Sinha, and Alaya F are other actors featured in the film.
A review of the film by Hindustan Times says, “One thing BMCM has in abundance is swag, and it gets three times better each time Akshay, Tiger, and Prithviraj appear on screen. Akshay knows his territory well, and watching him do action is always a visual treat and a delight for his fans. Sporting a moustache and being the mature half of the duo, he plays his age well though it’s incredible to see him do this insane action at the age of 56.”
